 Groton, established in 1655, has a population of roughly 11,000 and is situated in the Nashoba Valley region in northwestern Middlesex County. Groton is the biggest town in Middlesex County with 106 miles of furrowed or kept up streets inside the town. Like similar towns in the area, Groton has approximately 30% of its land in town as protected open space. Most of this is accessible by the public with over 100 miles of trails.
